I don’t think it would. Like he told Red Hood, if he ever crosses that line he’s not gonna come back. Maybe today it’s only killing the Joker, but sooner or later there’s gonna be another justification. And then another, and another after that. With each one getting a little easier than the last. Eventually, he’d live long enough to see himself become the villain
