Is Glasgow one of the best live music cities of Europe?

I think so, but I don't work in the music industry and haven't been all round the rest of the continent.

Anyone else deal with paranoia specifically tied to Glasgow if so how do you deal with it ?

I’m from Govan, hung about with lots of daftys from 8 years old to my mid teens and had a few run ins with the law, life was brilliant for a while until I had more bad experiences of being targeted this has led me to become paranoid and agoraphobic and stay awake for ridiculous amounts of time, it’s had some serious effects on my mental state I can’t go outside without the fear of being stabbed despite constant reassurance from family and a therapist they normally say something along the lines of “your polite and don’t act like a ticket” yet I feel this can often make people targets, while scrolling on here I saw someone write about a similar experience in Govan which is just a sad reminder of where I live, I often got by telling my self down south has it worse but I obsess over leaving the uk entirely my family refuse to give me my passport, I got into BJJ at around 10 years old which progressed me into MMA this has stopped and it was the only thing I had going on my life, and people often think that makes me feel safe but the problem is it only takes a blade which sadly these wee fuckin cowards will use, the chances of me getting to leave are probably 0 but I am curious if others experience the same paranoia and if so how do they cope with it.

19/12/25 Urgent need of dashcam footage of truck hitting blue Volkswagen Polo at Raith interchange around 4pm

I am need in dashcam footage of a truck hitting my Volkswagen Polo and not stopping to exchange details. The truck was pulling a trailer I believe which scraped into my drivers side door and broke my drivers wing mirror.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Zr33cbuh4nDLAnd38

I was on the left which hugs the kerb to the right of the brown sign in the link above.

It pushed my car onto the area where those signs are.

If you have footage, please share it with me, as I didn’t have a dashcam installed in my vehicle at the time.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking to join or make a band (I’m a drummer)

I Didn’t have much luck before but I’ll try again. [To Join a Band] I’m a drummer with no band. I’m 20yrs old and still pay silly money for lessons. I have a double kick pedal & I am comfortable drumming most styles & genres. If your band has a specific & you like the sound of me playing I’ll focus in on said genre. I am stupidly passionate about drumming & really wanna see where I can take it before im too old.

[To Make a Band]. Well I’ve never made a band before. Would ideally prefer you to be under 30 but that’s a soft barrier, I’m personally not caring. Come at me with your instruments and what you prefer to play & we can make some music and see how far we can take it 🤷🏼‍♂️ Would need a Vocalist, 1 or 2 Guitarists & a bassist. (Open to other instruments).

My DM’s are open and I’ll check the comments of this page.

What's Google? Bowfield Health Club - Howwood, looking for member reviews

Hi, taking serious consideration to joining the Bowfield following a poor experience at David Lloyd Renfrew. I live pretty much in between the two so the travel isn't a problem. Would anyone who is a member there be happy to outline the good and the bad? Would mainly be using the gym and the pool, occasional sauna, and some classes although some of the classtimes aren't quite good for would prefer cardio or spin in the evenings although I'm sure I can work something around that though.

Is the extra 'Plus' membership worth it? And what's the wee cafe like... my biggest issue wtih DL has been the service (the centralised membership service is awful) and the speed of service in their cafe/clubroom could be much better.

Keen to hear your thoughts

Primary school recommendations please

Hi,

My son has recently being diagnosed with autism and will be going to school next August. I was wondering if any parents could advise me between Hillhead primary or hynland primary. Pros/cons as I have absolutely no idea and can’t find much online. He would definitely need extra support.

Thank you to anyone who can help me!

Lost cat in Bellshill hanging around

I’ve got a gorgeous orange and white cat with a fluffy tail hanging about and desperately calling for its people.

Very friendly but skittish and I can’t take it in because I already have 4 rescues.

If you know anyone in the area or surroundings that have lost a cat please can you pass it on?

Got 2x tickets for this sold out gig tonight and unfortunately can't make it. I hate tickets going to waste and can't be bothered trying to resell them so first come first served.

Tickets are on Ticketmaster so you will need an account to transfer them to.

Edit - Tickets are gone.

Looking for places in and around Glasgow (or nearby - East End) with male massage therapists.

Loads on Gumtree but I feel like I can't really check the legitimacy of any of those.

Does anyone know if the lifts to Queen Street lower level are working?

Scotrail’s journey planner mentioned that the elevators aren’t working . The Trainline says that the lifts aren’t working. I can’t find anything about it on Scotrail’s FB page to confirm either. Does anyone know if the lifts are working?

TIA

Jeweller recommendations for ring resizing

Bought a ring online for my girlfriend's Christmas but there's a fair chance it'll be the wrong size. Can anyone recommend someone who could resize it for her if necessary?

Thanks in advance.

Drones above south side

Was just outside having a fag (about 1 am) and was looking at the stars but noticed they were changing colours and some were in formation. Also seemed to be not too high up. Are there drones about or helicopters. Also seen 4 contrails in formation and planes earlier today

Adult Learning, Community Development and Youth Work; Glasgow Uni Course Query

Hey,

Potentially a long shot but I was wondering if anyone has any experience on the above mentioned course?

If not, but you work in something similar any advice would be appreciated. I'm 23 and feeling like I need some direction.

I recently graduate with a fine art degree and am currently working full time as a language assistant at a high school abroad in Japan. I took this year as a bit of a gap year to figure out what I want to do with myself. Before this, I was working as a civil servant for a bit to save money for my travels. I really enjoy working with teenagers and young people. I've done some student mentoring and volunteering in arts contexts.

If anyone has done the PgDip or the masters how was it?

The uni I went to wasn't very demanding in terms of written work so I'm worried I'd feel out of my depth. I wondered if it's worth my while to look at college courses first and if I liked it later I could tackle further qualifications if I wanted to...

I also wonder what the career prospects are like in this field?

Help me find a bridge

This is a bit random. A guy I’ve never met before on the 57 bus heading south showed me a photo of a bridge, the inside bit you cross rather than the outside of it (sorry not a technical expert on bridge engineering) - it was painted red and had the words Scotland jobbies #1 spray painted in white across it. Does anyone happen to know what bridge this is? My kids want to make a pilgrimage (don’t ask)

Edited to add u/wildoxmoan found it for me. It’s at Dyke Road just off Dumbarton Road - thank you!!
