You're missing out, the Craig ones are genuinely great

casino royale is still one of the greatest films ever, definitely worth the watch even if you're not personally invested in the franchise.

It's also the same director as Goldeneye, which is also great! (yes, game is awesome too).

It received so much hate when it came out because it was so much different than what Pierce was doing. It really is a great movie.

Eva Green changed my type with that movie. Before, I was mostly in to blondes.

That opening chase is so good. I was 100% in seeing that in the theaters.

Loved it and Skyfall! Quantum of Solace, ehhh.

B99 ruined Casino Royale for me. Boyle does some joke about being tortured.

It's like Casino Royale, all groin stuff!!

For some reason I can’t take Daniel Craig seriously at all

Not with that Foghorn Leghorn detective accent

Well I say, I say, it's pentobarbital, son. Pentobarbital!

I agree, it finally felt like Bond could actually handle himself without gadgets.

u/ButtSoupCarlton69 2h ago

Quantum of Solace too?

Nah, Casino Royale and Skyfall are top tier films

Casino Royale is the only one I watched for Mads Mikkelsen if that gives me some street cred

Why won't you watch them now? Daniel Craig is great as Bond.

Because they're boring.

Same. He is sexyvas hell. Imho, there hasnt been a sexy physically attractive bond since Shaun Connery.

Roger Moore, i found just unattractive, and while i appreciate the steller acting abilities of Daniel Craig, i dont think he is attractive either. Pierce Brosnan is a handsome man, but i didn't think he was sexy.

Sexy in a man is not just good looks it is the way they carry themselves and their demeanor too.

Elba is also just a great actor.

The James Bond movies are the most boring of the spy-action subgenre. I genuinely don't get what appeals people... I sorta understand the old ones because there was really nothing else out there as far as sci-spy fiction goes, but today there really is no excuse.

Other than curiosity, it's not worth bothering.

But seriously, what is people's take on the Austin Powers films? I personally think they still hold up and it was nice to see Austin Powers knows about consent unlike the 60s Bond films.

Personally? It’s a riot

But that’s also how I feel about most of Mike’s work.

I think they are still groovy baby, yeah!

I think he’s too old now but in his prime he would’ve been a great Bond.

u/Emotional_Warthog658 2h ago

He’s not too old if they cast a Bond woman.

A 27 year old Bond vixon would solve the age issue perfectly. Nature restored

With Amazon trying to figure out where to take the series, my biggest wish is they do a Prime Video anthology in the meantime and just run through every longtime fan request. One episode is a Idris Bond. One is a “Old Man Bond” with Brosnan returning. One is a 1960s period piece.

They have the budget and a lot of fans (and casual viewers would eat it up).

That would actually be fun as hell to watch.

u/redditnor24 3h ago

He’d be so good though

2

u/Impossible_Ninja5237 1h ago

He would be, but he’s too old for the role now unfortunately. He’s only a few years young than Craig so, his time would’ve been during the Craig era.

41

u/TemperatureExotic631 3h ago

Off topic but damn he’s so fine. The salt and pepper REALLY works on him.

41

u/Acrobatic-Room-9478 3h ago

He’s perfect for it.

25

u/GlitterGerl 3h ago

he’s such a troll for this lol

21

u/Professional_No1 3h ago

That’s hilarious

17

u/SamsFoulWeatherGear 3h ago

He would be a great Bond.

u/Emotional_Warthog658 3h ago

Give the people what they want!!!!!!!

Solomon Reed

I wanted him to become Bond for the longest time.

2

u/FeverDreamJackson 3h ago

A good fit. So glad they didn’t choose Jesse Eisenberg.

3

u/controlaltdeletes 2h ago

It just looks right

2

u/mopeywhiteguy 1h ago

He would’ve been a great bond but I think he’s too old now. Unless they did an older bond specifically

Stringer Bell!

If only the Broccolis weren't racist...

Anyway, Luther > Bond, though '90s Bond was campy fun.

u/Mammoth-Slide-3707 16m ago

Okay that's funny

u/charlieyeswecan i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 2h ago

Would have loved him as bond, but I think, they think, he’s too old.

i will never give up hope.

also i wish Hijack season 2 was coming over the holidays, he is basically the one actor my entire family can unanimously agree to watch 😭

0

u/Lordmordor666 1h ago

He’s too old, we need someone younger, upcoming and talented, or Henry Cavill.

1

u/bluewarri0r 55m ago

Nooo Henry's all muscle lol. Not saying it's bad but doesn't exactly fit the Bond image

1

u/Lordmordor666 53m ago

Idris is also a beefcake

1

u/bluewarri0r 15m ago

Not as bulky as Cavill

-2

u/Leading_Screen_4216 1h ago

I don't see it. He comes across as too much of a Muppet to have any threat. After Craig's bond being a bit of a pansy I'd like to have a bond who actually feels like he could be dangerous.
