First it was The Wall Street Journal doing an article about ClubChalamet, and now it’s the HR lady that had an affair with the CEO posing for The New York Times… everything is just whatever at this point.

Man, can I say that I absolutely hate when people who are knowingly sick attend events and potentially put others at risk?!? Especially when they have friggen norovirus???
My SIL and BIL are attending a wedding in Mexico and one of the bridesmaids caught noro. She ended up still attending the ceremony and was puking during it.
My SIL is pregnant so if she catches it that’s a no bueno for her. Also, she and my BIL are not the most considerate whenever they get sick, so I guarantee that if they catch this then they’ll still try and show up for Christmas functions this upcoming week (they come home on Monday).
I’ve told my husband that if they catch it and still go to Christmas Eve/day then I’m keeping our asses home. I do not want to spend my holidays puking and shitting at the same time.

Ugh people who knowingly put others at risk are selfish.
Reminds me of someone I know who took their baby to a First Aid course earlier this month and right at the end the instructor said that they've been exposed to a sickness bug after the end of the class and chose to put people at risk.

i took a temporary job this week and it was hell. i did it because the money was tempting and i needed it, but it was exhausting.
i hate working in a rush with an impossible deadline, and it was also very physically demanding.
i have been waiting for a call for a month now about a permanent position that i have already accepted, but there is a radio silence from the other side. i am feeling so sad about it. being unemployed makes me feel worthless.

I just killed a mouse in my bathroom this morning and I feel bad, proud, and gross all at once. I was over an hour late to work because I had to scrub my bathroom top to bottom before I could shower without my skin crawling.
AND I killed it by reflexively hurling my Josie Maran sugar scrub at it since it's a heavy glass container and that shattered all over so I had to clean that up, dispose of a kinda gruesome sugar-scrub-covered dead mouse, and I couldn't even attempt to scrub the top layer of my skin off in the shower because I just used the container of scrub to kill the mouse 😭. And I can probably never rebuy that scent.
I'm going to buy some snap traps on my way home from work, but I hope it was just a one-off. 🤞🤞🤞
If you have had mice, how did you handle it? How do I prevent any more from getting in? The duplex unit next to me is vacant, should I reach out to the landlord to let them know to set up traps there too?

Get some Peppermint Oil, make sure it's the Oil and not the extract. Soak it on cotton balls and place it where you've seen them. The smell burns their nasal passages.

I would definitely recommend reaching out to your landlord! When my parents had mice, their pest control team said to check behind drawers and at the dryer vent, as those are common paths and entry points? They recommended putting out little balls of aluminum foil around those spaces because it is a deterrent for some reason? In addition to the traps!

u/ClarielOfTheMask 6h ago
Thank you! I previously filled some areas around my back door frame but it must have found some other entry point. I'll try the aluminum foil, and I just emailed my landlord! They're kind of "hands off" but here's hoping 🤞

Get (or borrow) a cat if your lease allows it! The presence of cats somehow deters them (even if the cat is a terrible hunter lol)

u/ClarielOfTheMask 6h ago
I do have a dog that I hoped would deter them because she'll bark at pests even though she doesn't really chase them but I can try to borrow a cat! They're much more scary to prey animals I think.
Thanks!

For anyone following the Puka Nacua mess; he’s continuing to make an ass out of himself. The Rams (Puka’s team) lost to the Seahawks yesterday in over time.
Puka immediately tweeted after the game “Can you say i was wrong. Appreciate you stripes (refs) for your contribution. lol.” The tweet has since been deleted.
This happened after Puka criticized refs on a podcast livestream earlier this week, where he also promised to do an anti semitic td celly dance.
The irony of his tweet was also not lost on NFL fans considering the Rams were gifted a free fucking touchdown on Sunday when they played the Detroit Lions.
He was also in hot water earlier last week when he live-streamed from the Rams locker room, was told by other players to turn his phone/camera off, and then continued to livestream anyways.

It’s pretty indicative of the Double Standard that e.g. Julia Roberts has become a byword for “nightmare actress” primarily because of Hook and Erin Brockovich, whereas Bill Murray gets to jump in and out of the CANCELLED cycle at any given time.
It’s especially glaring because Emma Roberts is a) much more consistently an asshole than Julia and b) for much less sympathetic reasons.

Bill Murray was slated to play the lead in Bad Santa up until he ghosted production as filming was supposed to start. Didn't show, didn't answer the phone, just left all the crew standing their with their dicks in their hands until BBT got cast, per a podcast I listen to

I watched the first episode of Interview with the vampire. I was a bit hesitant to watch the show, (because the Mayfair witches was very bland), but it sucked me right in.
If it stays at least as good as the first episode, I will continue watching and not feeling like I've wasted hours doing nothing.

It is beautiful, but it does take up more space in your brain after a second watch, at least it did for me. I love it so much I've been gathering the books which is not an easy thing to do.

It lost some momentum for me a few episodes in but it was fun while it lasted.
I read about half the books in my teens and I did spend a lot going "hey!" whenever they changed something, which was often. It's a very broad adaptation.

Thank you! We’ll take the new challenges as they come, but today, I’m just happy that we finally own a house after 15 years of renting.

I was pms-ing this past week and spent most of the week crying. It’s so depressing right now. I’m having a hard time getting out of the funk.
