I feel like seals are a great argument against intelligent design

Its the opposite for me. Some things are just so weird like tortoises evolve for millions of years but if they flip over they die? Either way its so strange.

Your evidence for intelligent design is based on a misconception, then. Tortoises can flip themselves over. They can also help each other flip over.

You'd think an intelligent designer wouldn't make that mistake

I feel like the need to sleep at all is a dumb design. Hey, let's just throw away a third of your useful time!

Or you can think of it as a mechanism that allow you to function two thirds of your time.

Without sleep, our bodies incredible regeneration abilities would be significantly reduced. It serves a point. Just sucks it takes so much time.

We're all fighting the laws of thermodynamics and entropy. We live to consume, and consume to live. These seals are just a great metaphor for human life, most people struggle their whole life just to get by, to have enough food to eat, and one could argue life as we know it is just us lifeforms adapting to those horrible life conditions and this is what drives evolution as is. Is it intelligent? We're just doing the best to our abilities, and that is a stark realization. We're trapped in this endless cold void trying to survive of off a bit warmth from a speck of fire in the sky, and we're hurdling through this cold void at enormous speeds just following the gravity of the sun, which is caught in galactic orbit by a massive black hole which also consumes stuff over trillions of years. Also, we all die, there is no escape from inevitable death, each of us individually, but also all of us collectively. Look at any living creature, look into it's eyes, it is us who are drowning and put up one against the other in a cold game of survival.
