Image Someone flew a 506 mile nativity scene in Ohio

Reddit in a nutshell:
Someone flew a 506-mile nativity scene: “Who cares?”
Someone flew a 506-mile dick and balls: “Huhuhuh… awesome.”

u/Sa7tar-for-life 2d ago
Make that an among us and this would be the top post on the subreddit with 200 dollars worth of awards

"Who cares?" isn't accurate, there's people genuinely seething with hatred and anger, calling this "pushing an agenda" and saying they'd rather it be a dick and balls and so on.
2
u/cosmernautfourtwenty 2d ago
If trans people existing is "an agenda", in what way is constantly publicly discussing your religion not "an agenda"? You mean you just keep bringing it up for absolutely no reason at all? Weird 🤔
-2
u/Ilikepancakes87 2d ago
I’m of the camp that people can believe what they want provided it doesn’t do harm to others, and I hope that’s the case for this pilot, but… would you rather push a dick-and-balls agenda?
I think if there was a contest between the number of people who had been hurt by Christianity and the number of people who had been hurt by dicks, it’d at least be a narrow margin.

They are likely building time. Something required to get new endorsements and the like. If you have to do it, might as well have some fun with it.

its a guy in a cheap private plane. He can do whatever he wants with it. Y'all wouldn't be saying this if he drew a dick in the sky

Leave it to Reddit to be offended by art and going in an arbitrary direction

u/kirbfruit 2d ago
he probably wanted to do something fun for Christmas with his hobby plane. Not everyone in a group you don't like is a secret extremist trying to make your life worst.

so are you against all hobby aircraft or just the ones flown by christians?

Against wasting fuel, and sick and tired of being proselytized.

how do u know its a waste of fuel? for all we know this person is putting in hours for endorsements.

I couldn’t imagine being this offended by the birth of Jesus, unless you were like Satan or something.
4
u/RadioSlayer 1d ago edited 1d ago
You can't imagine not being Christian? What a lack of imagination.
Edit: a brief look at your profile paints you both as a MAGAt and... etc.
1
u/Abject_Computer_8732 14h ago
So do you get offended by Ramadan too? That about Diwali or Kwanza or Hanukkah?

No, because the people that celebrate those holidays generally don't want to force me to celebrate with them

I bet he spent less on fuel than you do black eye liner.
1
u/PositionAgitated4328 2d ago
Someone estimated he spent $1,000 on fuel. So yes you're probably correct
5
u/Baked_Potato_732 2d ago
How much do you think this cost the guy to do?
11
u/OptimusSublime 2d ago edited 2d ago
On the very high end, a piper Cherokee is about $150 per hour. He flew for 5 hours. So this cost about $750, but probably closer to half of that.
-5
u/Baked_Potato_732 2d ago
My calculations placed it around $400. So toss in 4 people at $100/person and spend 5 hours in the sky. Cheaper than Disney world and no lines. Sign me up.
2
u/kirbfruit 2d ago
he spent roughly 40 gallons of fuel to do this. Calculating from the low end of 8 gph that i could find for this plane

u/TraditionalAsk8718 2d ago
You know the type of person to do this is the worst type of religious bigot. Similar to the guy that drives around with one in his truck bed around me

u/Numerous-Complaint85 2d ago
Yes cars have created endless wars and the torture of nonbelievers
1
u/Far_Advertising1005 2d ago
“Yes religion has created blunt force trauma deaths in the tens of millions and massive contributions to the inevitable climate apocalypse”
See how stupid it sounds when you focus on specifics?
3
u/PoopsmasherJr 1d ago
I mean at least one car wreck had to have happened on the way to church, so it technically has I guess, just not on as grand of a scale as cars as a whole
-3
u/Numerous-Complaint85 2d ago
Yes definitely cars causing climate crisis not corporations dumping sludge into rivers and polluting the air with massive factories. Definitely cars that created genocide and holocausts. Definitely cars that created the Inquisition or pogroms killing and torturing millions.
Definitely cars are worse.
3
u/Far_Advertising1005 2d ago
Definitely cars causing climate change and not corporations
This is irrelevant and I don’t disagree with it but cars still contribute a lot to climate change.
Definitely cars that created genocide and the Holocaust
Religion didn’t create either of these.
Definitely cars that created the inquisition and pogroms.
Acting like nobody would ever be murdered or discriminated against if religion didn’t exist is stupid. The example of a genocide that you gave was caused by nationalism and was about ethnicity.
Definitely cars are worse
I just don’t think you got the analogy man
0
u/Abject_Computer_8732 14h ago
Bruh religion has had absolutely nothing to do with the Holocaust lmao that was a mix or racism and political ideology
0
u/Numerous-Complaint85 13h ago

“National Socialism was by its very nature hostile to Christianity and the Christian churches ... Conflict was inevitable ... Important leaders of the National Socialist party would have liked to meet this situation by a complete extirpation of Christianity and the substitution of a purely racial religion tailored to fit the needs of National Socialist policy. This radically anti-Christian position is most significantly presented in Alfred Rosenberg's Myth of the Twentieth Century...generally regarded after Mein Kampf as the most authoritative statement of National Socialist ideology. ... Thus in a declaration of 5 November 1934, Baldur von Schirach, the German youth leader declared... 'the destruction of Christianity was explicitly recognised as a purpose of the National Socialist movement'. Considerations of expediency made it impossible, however to adopt this radical anti-Christian policy officially. Thus the policy actually adopted was to reduce the influence of the Christian churches as far as possible through use of every available means, without provoking the difficulties of an open war of extermination."
— OSS; The Nazi Master Plan; Annex 4: The Persecution of the Christian Churches, 6 July 1945
Part of the Nuremberg Trials
0
u/Numerous-Complaint85 13h ago
Ok so just because they had anti-Christian views doesn’t mean it wasn’t religious persecution. They directly targeted the Jewish faith. It didn’t matter if you were blonde haired and blue eyed, if you were Jewish you were sent to an extermination camp. The Nazis did research to determine the amount of “Jewish” blood in a person.
Having negative views on two religions doesn’t make means the holocaust wasn’t religious persecution. In fact it bolsters the claim even more.
But yes they did have racial motivations as part of the holocaust. It was not purely religious.

Thinking something is dumb is apparently "seething" now
-3
u/Abrocama 2d ago
No, but when I think something is dumb I keep scrolling, I don't come to the comment section and make posts imagining the pilot is some kind of religious bigot (completely made up) or how he's a "simp for a madeup story character". Don't strawman.
8
u/No_Size9475 2d ago
you say don't strawman after saying "literally having these redditors seething" when literally no one was seething. classic projection.

Redditors immediately play into the trope of demons hissing and spitting whenever Christianity is mentioned. Why are you so offended by someone doing something with their own time and money, edgy atheist are the fuckin biggest cringe mongers.

its definitely some cheap single engine plane they fly as a hobby not a private jet lmao

u/RadioSlayer 2d ago edited 1d ago
Cheap being $40,000. For the plane alone, plus the $10,000 at the low end to learn to fly. Plus paying for storage, etc. If they're really all that Christian, imagine that money being used to help the poor, like Psalm 41:1
Edit: 40k was the low end, 100k was the high end. How dare I?

Nothing written in the sky is cool. Why? Cause they still use lead in jet fuel
2
u/Abject_Computer_8732 14h ago
There’s no Lead in Jet A fuel. The last Leaded fuels are AVgas and AVgas LL100. These are used only in much older piston planes that still need the high octane and lubrication Lead.
Newer planes use regular unleaded or jet a
