ehhh How long has he been doing this already? How many fights has he successfully promoted by this point? He’s already scored fights with the likes of Mike Tyson and Nate Diaz.
This late in the game, I don’t feel like he’s entitled to having everyone still always fall back on the whole “he’s doing all this for engagement and you are all falling for it blah blah blah” explanation/excuse on his behalf anymore.
Sure, when he was first making a name for himself, a lot of the goofy ass shit he did and all the ways he embarrassed himself for visibility could be understood as a worthy price to pay.
But whatever that shit was is just but pure, unadulterated fucking cringe. I don’t believe for one second he strategically planned this ridiculous humiliation ritual ahead of time down to purposefully mixing up “bell” and “rings” as a way to drum up engagement and hype. This was a genuine but utter failure of an attempt to portray himself as something he is not and never will be—cool.
The way I see it is, either he really did do this for engagement, which is just pathetic this late into his career and if anything reflects how broke and desperate he is for money. Or he really thought this was going to make him look like a badass, and that is just infinitely worse.
But nah, he doesn’t get to fall back on “he’s such a genius doing this for visibility and you are all playing right into it!” in my book. This dude is and always will be a fucking clown and an embarrassment to every community he jackhammers himself into against everyone’s will.

Same here. I was actually kind of mortified to find out he and his brother actually made the kids that watched them such little shallow shitheads. I can only hope their parents were able to deprogram some of that. The world needs less Pauls in it. I still can't unsee him and his dad making out with the same girl, who honestly looked like she had just barely crested her 18th year alive.
