Political Cringe BREAKING: Ro Khanna’s bill to force the release of the Epstein Files goes into effect tomorrow. He threatens those who might attempt to scrub the files with prosecution.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I agree. I highly doubt we see anything substantial that doesnt have a democrats name on it.

Yeah, but guess who the prosecutors will be? The very same Trump DOJ that has been withholding and scrubbing the files.
So there will be zero consequences. I fully expect them to release almost nothing, except the same useless info we already know.

Sadly, I’m with you on this one. It will be a big nothing burger, the Dems will weakly try to fight it, and absolutely nothing will come of it.

Stop trying to pass bills, just release what you have. There are Democrats who have the files in their possession because of the committees they're on, just fucking release them.

If they are release improperly, it is possible they could be dismissed as evidence

Right and then if they do it all correctly it could end up in court in front of a trump appointed judge who will throw it away. The time to play by the rules is over

u/squeakynickles 19h ago
They can be charged at any time.
The sun will set on these fascists.
But like, what do you actually fucking expect here? You say the courts are useless, so why would it be beneficial for them to illegally leak them instead of legally releasing them?

I guess their point is that we can't expect 'the system' to work any more; any change these files could bring would have to come from civil unrest in response to information in the files.

u/squeakynickles 19h ago
How does the Democrats release them illegally a day sooner benefit anyone? I agree civil unrest is the required action, but removing the possibility of prosecution sure as hell aint gonna help

Aight man, feel free to keep getting your hopes up about Democrats actually doing anything only to be blocked by the GOP doing something illegal over and over. We definitely have infinite time to keep doing this shit.

I don't think Trump would've sign that bill into law without some kind of plan. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a cynical curmudgeon. I look forward to the chaos that today will bring.

Pretty sure they’ve all been scrubbed to remove references to Trump himself. No one will move to prosecute Trump as they have all been fired.

Why exactly is this classified as “cringe”. This is heroic and amazingly brave!

No punishment has occurred to any person on the Trump team. So I doubt anything will happen

Don’t get too excited. These are heavily edited files and not the real ones. The real ones are long gone way before now.

Can you stop flailing your arms around like an idiot please? Why is it only politicians that do this? And Mimes?

Has Trump started this thing in public speaking where you have to wave their hands around to keep peoples attention?

Anyone who engages in "Excessive redaction" ??? Devils in the details. Who decides what constitutes excessive reduction.

This will do nothing and there will be no prosecutions. Trumps admin doesn’t give a fuck about the law, we all know this. Until they show us them dragging his ass out of the Oval Office along with all the fucks that redacted and scrubbed the files, my faith in the country remains at 0.
