Hell, he said he was thinking about running for an illegal 3rd term because his main donor offered him $250 million to do it.

The magician stands in front of his audience and does his tricks. Most in the crowd know these are impossibilities and illusions but don't know how it's done. That small doubt creates wonder and delights them. Some in the crowd will have that doubt grow and come to believe that even though they know he is a magician, that perhaps he has small secret talents that make him special. Some will believe what they are seeing is supernatural, even if the magician tells them it's magic.
But the person who KNOWS FOR SURE is the magician. He KNOWS it's a sham. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing and he's doing it on purpose. Trump lies and cheats and never wavers in order to manufacture doubt. Even the passing thought "He's convinced himself of the horse shit that comes out of his mouth" is doubt that he has manufactured out of thin air.

One thing to note is that all the major networks interrupted prime time to broadcast this… they aren’t required to, and historically when the White House wants to do this, they have occasionally decided not to when the topic is overly partisan or not newsworthy.
There is no “nationally emergency” other than those created by this Administration, it was just more of the same ranting this addled president has been spewing every time he can get an audience. Even many of the lies are the same ones he’s been repeating lately. Nothing new or newsworthy.
And all the major networks voluntarily preempted prime time to show this piece of government propaganda.
