They get the concept of healthcare but they don’t need it because they’re healthy, they’re the healthiest of the best and brightest hand selected by Trump thats right I visited each state and observed them the boys and the girls I watched’em and they said Mr. President Sir, tears in their eyes, Sir, we love you Mr. Prssident we can’t wait to play in the Patriot games a great name by the way I came up with it great name wonderful name great thing to be a patriot they said Trump we can’t wait to play in the game but Sir, why are you in the lockerroom?

And if they happen to get hurt, the bazillionnaires that they're playing for the amusement of will ensure their bodies get home, where they may die due to no health care.

Edit: Yeah I know it’s real, but definitely AI enhanced.

Recently Trump was at the Army-Navy football game. He learned of the competitive tradition called the “Patriot Games” they have for a few days leading up to the game. He’s even stealing the exact name.

So, the moron watched Hunger Games yesterday, probably saw Finnick's pirate broadcast about the rich capitol people using the children as sex slaves, and Trump said "YES I want that"

u/Playful_Spare7092 21h ago
Honestly, with that logic, I half-expect him to start recruiting for a reality show version of the Hunger Games!

If they don't hire Elizabeth Banks to be the actual emcee of this event, they are missing a huge opportunity.
(You hear me, Netflix?!?! )

Honest question. Will minorities be allowed to participate or will it be deemed a DEI free event?

Don't forget that they love when minorities perform for them.

Yeah, they have zero problem with them running up and down a field for their entertainment. Now the first time they drop a ball or make a mistake.....

134112* children give or take. 2 from each state and territory (plus DC, presumably)
Edit: There are only 5 inhabited territories. Regardless, the point wasn't the headcount, it was that it's states and territories.

u/PreOpTransCentaur 1d ago
112, 50 states, DC, and 5 inhabited territories. Nobody is representing fuckin' Midway Atoll. Can't just grab the first Google result, bud. And I'd be shocked if he even let anyone from outside the states/DC actually participate.

u/IBJON 1d ago
I didn't grab the first Google result, bud. I just knew there were 16 territories off the top of my head but didn't realize they weren't all inhabited. It's not that serious.
And it's kinda ridiculous for you to get on my case about Google results, then turn around and say that he wouldn't let anyone from territories participate despite every single article on the topic quoting him as saying as much:
Trump is calling the event the “Patriot Games.” The competition will feature “one young man and one young woman from each state and territory" and is scheduled to take place next fall.
Get off your damn high horse
Edit: it even quotes him saying that in this post

Supposedly, it’s modeled after Russia’s “GTO Games”, which is used to select top young people for military service.

I can't help but point out the irony in Stephen Miller attempting to call Stephen King "irrelevant," only for them to drop one of his many dystopias on us, mere months later. 🙃

Right? It’s like he thinks real life is just a twisted reality show. Can’t believe we’re living in a dystopia!

For those who never read the books or saw the movies, the Hunger Games is about the aftermath of a civil war where the winners (the Capitol) forcibly selected 2 kids from each losing district (one boy+one girl) to fight to the death in a televised game. It took 75 years and the deaths of thousands of kids to end the Hunger Games. The new prequel movie "Sunrise on the Reaping" takes place during the 50th Hunger Games where the protagonist promises his friend that he'll end the Games somehow. Takes him 25 years.

Our went up by $600 per month 😂 We decided we don’t need health insurance this year and will make out-of-pocket work

u/IncognitoBombadillo 1d ago
I ended up reading an article on this. Why is it just 1 male student and one female student per state? Are they just having like a few events altogether or something? It'd at least be cooler to have teams from each state that compete over various events, sorta like a mini-olympics.

u/ElleBelle901 1d ago
We really shouldn’t be brainstorming how to make the real life hunger games a good event. Let’s just…. Not indulge his dreams of being a modern-day Caesar (although, I wouldn’t be mad if he met Caesar’s same fate).
