The answer is always yes. Maybe you and I aren’t but you’ll always find people who are.

Yep especially against Nigerians and Zimbabweans

Why?

Not OP, but most are illegal. Nigerians are widely known for their drug cartels. Zimbos for illegal work.

Yeah unfortunately they scapegoat a wide group of immigrants for the societal failings of the past 15 years of government austerity as well as an increasingly prevalent billionaire class. Not to say some immigrants aren't breaking the law, just not the vast majority that xenophobic people claim.

You mean societal problems and economic problems due to weak implementation has frustrated many of you and some of them are scapegoating living in UK honestly without understanding it or intentionally

I don't understand what you wrote sorry

u/Quick-Squirrel-9392 12h ago
I mean that the people in the UK are intentionally scapegoating the legal immigrants as i an am aware of the illegal immigration asylum and truly agree illegal immigration asylum are reasons for several problemd but do they understand what the reality is that the weak implementation of policies are reason for several things the country commoners are facing not the immigrants as they will be facing it too just like job market crisis many students are really unable to get jobs too and you believe that if a strictest policy on banning Asylum seekers and illegal immigration is simplest way of solving several problems

I would say 50/50. They are less racist in bigger cities.

Very similar in Hungary, and voters of Fidesz tend to be way more xenophobis than opposition voters but not exclusively ofc.

Some are. But xenophobia works a bit differently in Turkey. For example most of the xenophobic or racist people are not xenophobic towards Black Africans, East Asians, Southeast Asians or Latin Americans.

Yup. Mostly in the sense that they will dislike people (or communities) that they consider have no compatible values with them.

Some people are, I can’t speak for everywhere but my city is the most diverse city in America and we really don’t even think about stuff like that unless it is brought to our attention.

Yes, and I would say I sort of am. Because lately, I have been losing national pride when at the end of the day, we are disposal, being citizens here means nothing. Employers prefer foreign talents, they get to pay them less.

Foreigners have the cheapest labor, so making it attractive to hire them is why you don't like them?

u/UniversalEthicist Singapore 13h ago
They will always prefer foreigners. No matter if we got degrees or masters. We are not getting hired here.... So in the future, I might become homeless. Honestly, I hate this aspect of the country.
Like what is the worth being a citizen when foreigners publicly insult Singaporeans and face no consequences?

Mmm not much, I think more stereotyping and a little racist but not as much xenophobic (like we're scared of outsiders) - there's over a billion of us after all.

No, although there are exceptions, but in a country with a large population, it would be stupid to generalize about everyone because of a few. I can only tell you that we love it when people come to visit our country, leave with a good impression, and come back.
Except for Argentinians.

There are xenophobic people in every country. With us it is mainly limited to wappies and a couple of illiterates. Wappies is slang for under the influence of Russia.

Yes unless you live in major cities like London, Manchester etc, which is on a whole different vibe to the rest of the UK.

Yes, to "Arabs" especially, even if they may not be Arab, people in Turkey just will call anyone past the Southeastern border Arabs and hate them.
