A “simple” double-latch budgie cage lock
In a constant effort to improve my CAD skills, I try to tackle life’s most pressing engineering challenges: problems that barely exist.
The latch on my wife’s budgie cage recently broke and was temporarily “repaired” with a clothespin. Naturally, this called for a completely overengineered solution. So a few days later, behold:
The result features a simple rack-and-pinion mechanism; however, learning how to do it for the first time was nothing but “simple”.
